Workforce – Douglas County

Overview

Douglas County’s civilian workforce is over 40,000 strong. Local unemployment rates remain around 8%. The workforce is largely blue-collar, with manufacturing, warehousing, and natural resource industries well-represented.

The Partnership works closely with Umpqua Training & Employment and Umpqua Community College to address local workforce challenges. For a summary of projects undertaken to serve existing and new employers to the area click here. Career & Technical Education is alive and well at area schools.
