  • Executive Director Transition

Wayne Patterson has started as our new Executive Director. He has lived in Douglas County for almost 15 years. Wayne’s background includes President/CEO of a powersport company with multiple divisions and manufacturing, co-founder of Alpine Electronics, co-founder Proton Electronics, SVP of Specialized Bicycle Corporation, corporate restructure and strategic development for Oakley, and category development/M&A/Advisory Board for Nike. We are very excited to have Wayne on board! Alex Campbell has moved on to a job with the State of Oregon where he will continue to work on economic development and community development for southern Oregon.

  • LeanLink Moving in New Directions… The LeanLink leadership team has been meeting and talking about where to take this LeanLink “thing.” (LeanLink is an industry-led group dedicated to peer-to-peer education and training around continuous process improvement and related topics. You can check out the history of the group on The Partnership’s website http://www.uedpartnership.org/lean/leanlink-history/.)

We have concluded that the monthly lunches have largely accomplished the goal of raising awareness of these topics and approaches, but there is probably more value to be had in organizing fewer, more in-depth, events. The LeanLink team is currently reviewing new approaches / topics and venues.
