LEANLINK Update:

Hi there folks! Our meetings have become quite interactive, and we’ve enjoyed some good discussions regarding needs in our workplaces. Part of the reason our group exists is to share what we do well and what we struggle with as we strive to be the best at what we do…our Lean Link group is a forum that supports those discussions and helps us all drive toward better business practices and helps our businesses become more robust.

In response to those discussions, our February meeting will feature Gary Purcival from Roseburg Forest Products’ EWP plant in Riddle. Gary will talk with us about engaging employees at the floor level in quality at the source. This is important, because waiting until the product or service is complete to inspect for quality can actually increase the cost to produce that deliverable! Gary will talk with us about building in quality checks throughout the process, improving the overall quality, improving employee morale, and ultimately increasing customer satisfaction through this practice.

We’re meeting on February 17 at noon in the “Vineyard Room” at Roseburg Elmer’s. We’ll see you there!
